In the fall of 2002, the Michigan A Cappella Council (MACC) was founded to serve as a liaison between the University of Michigan and its a cappella community. Throughout the school year, MACC organizes joint performances and charity initiatives to not only foster camaraderie among groups, but to give back to the greater University and Ann Arbor communities.

Today, 15 diverse, talented groups reside on U of M's campus – the United States' largest collegiate a cappella community! Several of these groups have received the a cappella world's highest honors, gaining recognition in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), and being featured on compilation albums such as Best of College A Cappella (BOCA) and Voices Only.
